    Pet Nurse/ Surgery Lead/ CVA

    Doreen joined the Red Barn team in December 2014, bringing with her valuable experience from her years as a caretaker at TLC Humane Society. She and her husband live in Dahlonega, where their home is shared with several beloved rescue pets. Passionate about helping anxious animals, Doreen earned her Fear Free certification to better support nervous patients and make their visits more comfortable. As our lead surgery nurse, she takes great pride in ensuring every pet receives gentle, attentive, and reassuring care.

    Pet Nurse/CVA/CPR Certified

    Leah joined the Red Barn team in March 2022. She has loved working with animals of all kinds for as long as she can remember. At home, she shares her life with two dogs, Rosie and Piper, and two cats, Skye and Percy. Outside of work, Leah is a competitive equestrian. She brings compassion and care to every patient she meets and looks forward to continuing to grow her knowledge and skills in the veterinary field while at Red Barn.

    Amber first joined the Red Barn team in 2012 as a receptionist but left for a short period while focusing on her family. We are so happy to have her back as a technician! Amber has always had a strong passion for veterinary medicine and brings to the table 13 years of experience in the field front and back. She has a passion for farm animals as well as our companion friends. Amber is a mother of two wonderful children Sadie and Tate. They own two cats named, Turbo and OJ. Amber enjoys spending her spare time outdoors and with friends and family. We are happy to have Amber here to help make your pet's experience the best!

    Carolina became part of the Red Barn team in October 2023. A Gainesville, GA native, she discovered her passion for the veterinary field during her three years working in animal shelters. She is Fear Free certified, and her commitment to this approach reflects her deep dedication to ensuring every patient feels safe, calm, and comfortable. At home, she has four dogs named Goofy, Max, Rafiki, and Pumba. Her favorite breeds are dachshunds, chihuahuas, and pit bulls. She can’t wait to meet all your pets, and we’re so excited to have her on our team!

    Kaytlyn Showalter
    Pet Nurse

    Kaytlyn joined the Red Barn team in January of 2024. She was born in Portland, Oregon, but moved to Georgia shortly after being born. She has lived here for most of her life. She has 2 ½ years of experience with emergency veterinary medicine and has huge passion for working with small animals. Kaytlyn also owns her own horse, an off the track thoroughbred, named GT. She has trained him to be a hunter/jumper and has taken him to rated shows in Lexington, Kentucky and Akins, South Carolina. She also lives with 3 cats, 2 dogs and a hamster. During her free time, she enjoys relaxing around the house and spending time outdoors or driving around. Kaytlyn has a thriving passion to learn new and exciting things by working in veterinary medicine.

    Summer Covington
    Pet Nurse

    Summer joined the Red Barn team in May 2024. She is originally from Jersey City, New Jersey and moved to Georgia a few years later. Her passion for animals blossomed after working in daycare and boarding facilities for several years, leading her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In her free time, Summer enjoys hanging out with her husband Jay and their three pets: an older pup named Biggie, and two cats named Fat and Nanami. Summer is eager to help care for your pets!

    Bella Grier
    Pet Nurse

    Bella joined the Red Barn team in August 2024 as a Veterinary Assistant. She is currently studying Agribusiness Management at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia, with the goal of using her degree to advance a career in the business side of veterinary medicine. Her love for animals began on her family’s beef cattle operation and has only grown over the years. Outside of work and school, Bella enjoys spending time with her two-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Weston.

    Chloe Hinchliffe
    Pet Nurse

    Chloe joined the Red Barn team as a receptionist in October 2024 and has since trained to become a veterinary assistant. She is currently studying animal science at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, with plans to attend the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. In her free time, Chloe balances schoolwork with time spent with her family and her tabby, Tink. She is enthusiastic about expanding her knowledge in veterinary medicine and dreams to become a veterinarian in the future.

    Kelsey Scavuzzo
    Pet Nurse/CVA

    Kelsey joined the Red Barn team in March 2024. She was born and raised in Gainesville. She earned a Bachelor’s in Biology from the University of North Georgia. Kelsey currently has one cat named Wellington and two dogs named Rosco and Moose. In her free time, she enjoys cross stitching and reading. Kelsey is looking forward to helping us take care of your pets!
